This is a fictional story about the creation of Bitcoin and the mysterious identity of its creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. The outline weaves in elements of mystery, thriller, science fiction, and romance to tell an imaginative origin story of Bitcoin's inception.
Prologue - Birth of Banking: In the heart of ancient Babylon, the eerie Festival of Moloch reached its chilling climax at night. Amidst deafening silence, the priest's merciless blade fell and beheaded an infant in sacrifice. The head rolls towards the open stomach chamber of Moloch whose eyes gleam red. Smoke floated up towards the starry night.
New Beginnings: The year is 2008 the place a cafe inside SF International Airport. Satoshi embarks on a new chapter of his life in San Francisco for a job at LinkUp as a Software Engineer. The taxi ride from the airport offers Satoshi a snapshot of his new surroundings - the stark realities of escalating homelessness, rising living costs, and the pulsating energy of city life. He is moving in with Julian (a fearless journalist) and his shy, teenage daughter Eva. As the taxi halts at the doorstep, Julian helps Satoshi move his luggage.
Heartless Banker: Next morning, a banker comes to evict Satoshi’s neighbor (Daniel and his family) from their home. The family pleads for mercy to the banker. Daniel reveals he lost his job due to the recession and his baby daughter’s healthcare costs put him behind on paying home loan installments but Solomon dismisses them coldly, displaying a clear disregard for their suffering. Julian comes in at the last minute to help Daniel pay his installment and buy some time. He chastises Bankers for giving loans freely without any checks and balances which led to the 2008 housing collapse. Eva consoles Daniel’s daughter Lily (6 yrs old). Satoshi watches hidden, troubled but uncertain how to help. He thinks “Well, that’s life, I’ll ignore it - what is one person going to do anyway? I can’t save the world”. This encounter sets the stage for Satoshi's growing disdain towards the banker and the current financial system.
The Alchemist's Machine: Later when Solomon leaves, Julian offers to drive Satoshi around his new job campus at LinkUp. On the way, Julian spots the banker Solomon's car and recognizes him from Daniel's eviction. Curious, Julian tails Solomon's car on a detour. Julian follows Solomon to a secret building. Satoshi catches up in time to see Julian sneak inside. Concerned for his friend, Satoshi enters too. Satoshi and Julian unwittingly discover a sophisticated counterfeit operation. A $100 bill, blank on one side, forces Satoshi to question the very concept of money. The operation is guarded by cult guards who discover Satoshi and Julian snooping around. It turns into a high-stakes chase reminiscent of an Indiana Jones escapade. Julian is a thrill-seeker, riding the wave of adrenaline and impulsively throwing himself into the situation. Satoshi, on the other hand, is analytical and reserved, torn between the adrenaline and his apprehension. The frantic pursuit zigzags through the city, culminating in a daring drone-aided (the one in the suitcase) escape from the peak of the Transamerica Pyramid. After coming home Satoshi smokes some pot (thanks to Eva) and thinks about “what is money?!”
LinkUp: As Satoshi begins his tenure at LinkUp, he is immediately swept up in the whirlwind of its groundbreaking developments. Samantha is the captivating founder CEO leading the tech behemoth.
Satoshi is fascinated by his new company as he is given an introduction tour by Alex, a dwarf who heads an R&D lab focused on building even smaller processors. Satoshi is tasked with figuring out a way for scientists of different branches to share large files. Their current system which has centralized server keeps crashing. Satoshi falls for his co-worker Jane Parkinson-Ying, a petite, young woman (socialist, marxist, anti-racist, pro-lgbtq). She tells him how unrestrained capitalism enslaves people and invites him to Occupy Wall Street protest next week. That moves Satoshi.
Fostering Bonds: After coming home Satoshi pays Julian 3 months of advance rent in order to help him, since Julian helped Daniel earlier. Satoshi, Eva, and Julian grow closer, sharing moments of camaraderie having meals together, laughing over mishaps; all three huddled together on the couch, watching movies, sharing popcorn. Eva nonchalantly tells Satoshi about how she downloads music and movies with Bittorrent, underscoring her recklessness. This gives Satoshi an idea to build something similar to share files for LinkUp. Lily also visits occasionally. Eva begins dressing up more around Satoshi, hinting at her burgeoning womanhood. They go to a Yapese festival where they show a dance on Rai Stones. Julian is making a tv documentary which will expose how the world’s financial system turns us into slaves of bankers.
Occupy Wall St: Satoshi and Jane arrive at Occupy Wall Street for the protest. Julian and Eva are there too for their documentary “Kill the Bank!”. The peaceful Occupy protest grows as Julian gives an impassioned speech against corporate greed. Protestors link arms, peacefully chanting slogans. Police arrive in riot gear on Solomon's orders to shut it down. Scuffles break out. Officers aggressively arrest some protestors, which sparks public outrage at the police abuse. Julian tries intervening but a brick is thrown at police, who violently retaliate. Chaos erupts. The angry mass charges the Bank of America, smashing inside to express their fury. Satoshi and Julian follow them in, stunned to find the vaults completely barren except for stacks of fiat currency. This shocking empty bank vault discovery fuels Satoshi's distrust of the corrupt financial system. Where did all the money go? Eva rushes to film police brutality, showing her recklessness and immaturity. An officer spots her and tries to shove Eva down aggressively. Satoshi sees Eva about to get shoved and runs in, shielding her body from the officer's baton. He takes a harsh hit to protect her. Eva tends to Satoshi's wounds, gratitude and affection growing in her eyes. Satoshi is relieved to spot Jane unharmed. They embrace, processing the tumultuous events. Satoshi grapples with his views on the financial system after seeing exploitation by both the bank and police. Julian's impassioned talks about the need for systemic change begin to resonate more deeply with Satoshi. Jane gains new respect for Satoshi. Later, Solomon callously dismisses protestors' concerns, despite ordering the police brutality.
Fractional Banking: Julian sheds light on the dubious practice of “Fractional Reserve Banking.” Banks create money out of thin air! He tells them how Federal Reserve (a private company like Microsoft or Apple) is allowed to print money and then lend it to the government. The realization of the system's inherent corruption fuels Satoshi's determination for transformation. Solomon announces layoffs at the bank, causing outrage amongst employees while he revels in his extravagant bonuses, exacerbating Satoshi's hatred for the man and the corrupt system he represents. During this, Solomon exhibits signs of stress, hinting at the pressure he's under to maintain his family's legacy. He sees Jane, Satoshi, Julian and Eva together.
Unseen Biases: In this chapter, Satoshi navigates his feelings for Jane. After plucking up the courage to ask her out, he is rejected. His heartbreak deepens when he later overhears her mocking his height to her female co-workers. He pretends it doesn't affect him, but we see him later in the bathroom, fighting back tears, his self-esteem shattered. Late conversations with Dr. Samantha, provide Satoshi with fresh perspectives, leading him to question societal norms and explore humanity's darker side. She is impressed with Satoshi’s work-ethics. She explains how she wishes to use her power and centralization to further mankind. Most people are like cattle, she is the shepherd. Alex expresses concern for Satoshi's well-being. He encourages Satoshi to focus on his God given gifts of intelligence and use them well. Inspired, Satoshi decides to focus on his work. He spends late nights working on his de-centralized file sharing system.
The Decentralized Debate: Satoshi has been developing his decentralized file sharing system at work to allow LinkUp scientists to share large data easily. He asks for a meeting with his team and CEO Dr. Samantha to present the idea and get feedback before continuing. Unusually, the Banker also shows up to the meeting as an influential LinkUp investor. He takes an immediate disliking to Satoshi. Satoshi presents his decentralized system idea enthusiastically, explaining how it could prevent server crashes and research bottlenecks. A heated debate ensues between Satoshi and the Banker over the merits of central vs decentralized systems. Samantha moderates. Banker uses his height to convince others. Alex comes to Satoshi’s defense. Neither quite convinces the other but Satoshi's passion gives Samantha pause. She approves a trial of his decentralized system despite Banker's protests. Satoshi is energized, feeling emboldened to further his decentralization vision against rigid establishment thinking.
Digital Gold: Eva (who used to dress sloppily) has started focusing on her appearances. Julian thinks this is because she is turning into a woman. Julian (during a game of chess) mentions how the Queen was meant to represent Bankers. That’s why it is more powerful that even the King who is a ruler in name only. Julian and Satoshi often have discussions about the corruption in the financial system, gradually leading to the idea of a digital, decentralized currency. Julian explains to Satoshi how Gold was defeated by the powers to be and we need a new tool if we are to beat them. Julian floats the idea of creating digital gold to Satoshi. Something which once started cannot be controlled by any middleman, can function independently, without his direct oversight. Like a company which doesn’t have a CEO. Julian was part of an underground group of activists/hackers united by using cryptography for social change - the Cypherpunks. Satoshi is initially skeptical about the idea but the idea takes hold of him. He starts reading about it, discussing it with Alex, trying to figure out how to make it work.
Journalistic Dangers: Tragedy strikes Daniel (the neighbor), his young daughter goes missing. The prior night Satoshi observed a tall, blonde man resembling Solomon pass by his home. Eva notices a weird spider’s web at Daniel’s house. She shows Julian a picture. That sends Julian off on a mission. He has seen the same web before. He spends longer and longer time away from home. Satoshi and Eva watch movies together. Satoshi starts developing feeling for Eva. She does the same for him. Julian uncovers Solomon's illicit activities, revealing him as the head of a cult involved with the missing children. The cult's involvement with the city's elite becomes clearer. He is spotted but he narrowly escapes. Julian's relentless efforts to expose financial corruption increasingly endangers his life. Julian finds himself constantly tailed, his home and office bugged. He narrowly escapes a staged accident, only escalating his determination to uncover the truth.
Quantum Experiments: At work Alex explains to Satoshi the immense difficulties in engineering at nanometer scales due to quantum effects coming into play. He shows Satoshi the 'Double Slit' quantum experiment which shows how consciousness gives birth to reality. He tries to explain his theories of their being other worlds, other hidden dimensions.
Satoshi starts building a decentralized file share system at work. They both take a break from work and do mushrooms in Golden Gate Park. Time and space dreams for Satoshi.
Julian’s Spiral: Julian hasn’t been the same since Daniel’ daughter went missing. He begins to lose sleep, consumed by paranoia, showing signs of stress and fear. He begins drinking more, his health visibly deteriorating. He has emotional outbursts, alternating with periods of deep desolation, portraying a slow decline into despair. One night, Julian, while drunk, pours out his heart to Satoshi, revealing his suspicions about a giant conspiracy within the city and how the banker is at its heart. There are "unseen forces" backing the bankers. Julian shares his mission with Satoshi - to expose the corrupt system and kill the 'Bank,' setting the wheels in motion for Satoshi's eventual revelation. His next episode will expose them all. Julian emphasizes the importance of Satoshi continuing the work on digital currency. Technology is our only hope. He talks about how we were uncivilized apes until an intelligent man invented weapons and started us down the path of civilization.
The Mentor: The banker has moments of self-doubt about having to uphold his family's legacy. Jane approaches Solomon for mentorship. He invites her over to his place, where Jane notices symbols and artifacts that connect him to the cult. Solomon tells her that he admired her occupy wall st protest. He believes she can serve the greater good by shifting her focus to other activism such as LGBTQ and BLM and he will support her. Solomon starts touching her body. He forces himself on her.
Julian’s Death: Julian is mysteriously killed, shot at his desk late at night. Prior to his death, Julian had received threats from Solomon, further deepening the mystery surrounding his death. Satoshi and Eva are shocked and devastated by Julian's sudden death. Losing Julian devastates Eva, eliciting remorse about her past behavior. Authorities swiftly rule it a suicide, releasing expert statements to reinforce that claim. Jane comes forward publicly accusing Julian of sexual assault during Occupy Rally, selling the narrative that he was mentally unstable. Satoshi and Eva are shocked by Julian's death and Jane's accusation they know is fabricated.
The Fight for Truth: They try to pursue justice but the corrupt system shuts them down. Satoshi and Eva get a single cold, official statement dismissing inquiries into Julian's suspicious death. TV has headlines and snippets of pundits smearing Julian's name. Satoshi and Eva then try spreading the truth themselves online, initially gaining traction. Solomon reacts ruthlessly behind the scenes. He has bot farms swarm their post with negative comments. Solomon threatens to pull funding from the tech company if Samantha doesn't comply with censoring Satoshi's message. Samantha calls Satoshi to show some regret. Satoshi and Eva find themselves increasingly isolated, as they lose the backing of the public. Solomon freezes their accounts to paralyze them financially. Cornered, Satoshi and Eva retreat, realizing the system is rigged against them.
I Will Kill The Bank: Satoshi stops a suicidal Eva outside the bank. He calms her down and talks about Julian's mission. Not to destroy physically, but to ‘Kill the Bank!’ in a way they can never recover. The realization finally dawns upon him - the system cannot be fought from within; it needs to be bypassed. He vows to avenge Julian’s death by fulfilling his vision - he will bring down the Bank and establish a new system where corruption cannot take root so easily. He will build Bitcoin. Eva curbs her recklessness, heeding Satoshi's wisdom as the new anchor in her life. They paint a graffiti of Kill the Bank’s logo on the bank.
Coding the Revolution: Satoshi throws himself into work, spending countless sleepless nights on creating the Bitcoin protocol. Driven by Julian's vision, the urgency of the circumstances, and his love for Eva. Satoshi modifies the decentralized file sharing system he built for LinkUp, but instead of files, his new system shares transactions. Eva supports Satoshi's obsessive work on Bitcoin, displaying her newfound maturity. She helps test Bitcoin software, she now also cooks meals, something she had never done before.
A Hidden Flaw: Alex stumbles upon mysterious texts and symbols, which are a part of LinkUp’s data. Satoshi tells Alex about Bitcoin, Alex doesn’t believe it will work. He tells Satoshi that without any incentive to run Bitcoin nodes, people won’t support it. At home Eva uncovers the first bug in Satoshi's version of Bitcoin - Double Spend. Bitcoin will fail unless Satoshi solves this bug. Amidst this, Eva's unexpected pregnancy adds a layer of complexity to their situation.
Alex Goes Missing: Alex experiments with his own consciousness via psychedelics. He notices the LinkUp server’s 'bending of reality'. Which then prompt him to invite Satoshi to join him. They both go to Redwood Forest to drop acid. On the way, (like a horror scene) a homeless mother frantically slams her fists on the passenger window where Satoshi is seated. She screams “my son is missing!!”. Satoshi mentions for the first time that his neighbor Daniel too had his daughter kidnapped. Satoshi is struggling with his Bitcoin project. He wishes Julian were here to help him. Surely Julian could have figured out a solution to Double Spend. While on the trip he gets visions of the assassinations of various powerful men throughout history. Time and space keep looping around Satoshi. Multiple assassination scenes merged. After coming down from his acid trip, he is surprised to see that Alex has already left. During his acid trip with Satoshi, Alex has a vision of missing children that triggers memories of occult rituals he recently read about. He quickly pulls out his occult book, refreshing his memory on the details. Still high, Alex becomes convinced the rituals are connected to the missing kids and happen underground at LinkUp. The quantum computer is actually a Portal! He highlights the key passage about the need for 66 sacrifices plus an unborn baby. Compelled to investigate immediately, Alex tries to tell Satoshi but he can’t speak due to the influence of substances. Alex rushes off to LinkUp headquarters. There he finds the underground temple before being captured by Samantha and taken down to be sacrificed.
Blockchain: Satoshi and Eva grapple with the decision of whether to keep their unborn child as they take a CalTrain to an abortion clinic. They are both filled with uncertainty and fear. En route to the abortion clinic by train, Satoshi gazes pensively out the window, wracked with uncertainty. As he watches the passing Silicon Valley, inspiration suddenly strikes - a chain of blocks (just like a train) could prevent double spending! Feverishly, Satoshi sketches out his blockchain breakthrough. Satoshi now only needs the last piece of the puzzle to complete Bitcoin. The city's decaying infrastructure, contrasts sharply with Satoshi's progress on the blockchain concept.
A Painful Decision: Satoshi, is stirred by two contrasting figures he observes at the clinic: a highly accomplished yet short childless Dr. Abbas and a tall, black former convict who, despite his rough exterior, is adored by his pregnant wife and children. That makes him recall Jane's rejection for his height. A chart depicts sperm striving to fertilize an egg, sparking Satoshi's epiphany about Bitcoin's proof-of-work concept. As a parallel to nature's reproductive lottery, miners compete cryptographically to earn rewards. Satoshi realizes this is the solution he's been searching for. After realizing the unfairness, Satoshi decides to cancel the abortion. Just as the doctor is about to take a sharp drill towards his child, he runs inside the operating theater and yells “STOP!”. Satoshi asserts his desire to Eva, to keep their child, affirming their love despite societal prejudice. They embrace tearfully, committed to facing the future together as the cryptographic egg of Bitcoin is symbolically cracked open.
The Ghost: Inspired by his experience at the clinic, Satoshi throws himself into coding Bitcoin with renewed vigor once he returns home. He works feverishly day and night, solving the final pieces of the puzzle to build a decentralized digital currency free from centralized control. Just as Satoshi is about to upload the Bitcoin software and whitepaper, he hears a noise outside. Alarmed, he realizes someone is breaking into his apartment. Satoshi heads out with a pocket knife to protect his pregnant Eva. After ensuring the attacker left, he tries calling Alex who is missing. So Satoshi asks Samantha to help. She agrees to let Eva stay at her place. He drives her over to her place.
Misplaced Justice: Satoshi is on his way home when Daniel, the father of the first missing girl, kidnaps Satoshi, having misunderstood Satoshi's relationship with Eva and suspecting him of being involved in his daughter's disappearance. He was the intruder earlier that night. Nichola’s dog growls at Satoshi as he convinces him of his innocence and reveals his own ongoing investigation into the missing children, leading Daniel to reluctantly release him. His dog licks Satoshi. Daniel shows him all the evidence he has collected of children going missing in SF. Satoshi connects this with what Julian had told him about the powerful cult controlling the city.
Satoshi picks up Alex's book and discovers the highlighted passage, finally realizing the truth behind the children's disappearances and Eva's intended fate. He realizes Samantha is the mastermind and Eva is going to be the next victim.A Twisted Revelation: Satoshi along with Daniel returns back to Samantha’s place and tries to contact Eva. Only to find both women missing, sparking his realization that the Illuminati have taken her to use as a sacrifice in their ritual. Satoshi deciphers Alex's notes, unveiling the location of the Illuminati hideout and setting him on a path of danger and confrontation. The location is the office of LinkUp, its basement. He doesn’t call the cops because he knows that they too are implicit in this conspiracy.
Battle at LinkUp: Satoshi and Daniel infiltrate the cult's ritual site. Seeing they are outnumbered, Satoshi swiftly types an emergency message to the Cypherpunks mailing list from his phone: "Julian's daughter will be sacrificed in a ritual at LinkUp HQ. Bring guns." The cult engages in a mesmerizing dance and chants in an ancient language as they wait for the moon and Saturn to align astrologically. After the alignment, the cult members drink psychedelic blood together, chanting incantations in a trance. Samantha and Solomon start making their way to the inner chamber for the final sacrifice - murdering the pregnant Eva to offer her unborn child's soul. Seeing it will be too late if they wait for help, Satoshi and Daniel attack, fighting off cult guards. Satoshi feels outmatched until the Cypherpunks (Nick Szabo, Hal Finney, Adam Back and Wei Dai) dramatically burst in, guns in hand, ready to back him against the cultists. At a pivotal point, Daniel risks his life fighting guards so Satoshi can continue below. Satoshi takes a long elevator deep below LinkUp’s office.
The Ritual: Satoshi discovers the bodies of deceased children connected to the main server via blood tubes. Samantha is the high priestess. Solomon lays down in a tomb and is beheaded by Samantha as part of the ritual. As a descendant of ancient Babylonian kings, Solomon's bloodline was crafted over millennia for this moment - his body to become the vessel for Lucifer once the ritual opens an interdimensional gateway. But before Samantha can sacrifice Eva, Satoshi reveals himself. Samantha tells Satoshi that him reaching the sacred ritual site was a testament that he deserved to be one of the elites. She offers him an opportunity to join them, unlimited money and power over inferior people. Satoshi hesitates and then decides to join her. Samantha opens her arms to embrace Satoshi. Secretly she has a dagger hidden up her sleeve. But just before she is about to strike, Satoshi stabs her multiple times, avenging Julian, Alex and Eva. He quickly frees the bound Eva and embraces her.
Lucifer the Bearer of Light: Satoshi thinks he is safe, but Samantha's dying blood completes the ritual. The portal opens and Lucifer's giant spiderlike form enters Solomon's corpse, animating the zombie. Satoshi tells Eva to flee while he fights the possessed Solomon. Satoshi tries stabbing him with his pocket-knife but zombie Solomon is too strong - the knife breaks. Like a matador luring the bull, Satoshi tries to attract zombie Solomon to the other side, giving Eva the chance to escape. The possessed Solomon grabs him and speaks in a chilling, otherworldly voice, “We meet again, old friend. How many times must we play out this tiresome dance across eternity?” Satoshi is puzzled. Solomon cackles. "Oh but we have crossed paths countless times, in ages long forgotten. Our little game shall soon reach its destined conclusion." Satoshi outruns Solomon by weaving in and out among servers. He takes one last look at Eva who escapes to safety and Solomon catches up with him. Satoshi falls down, Solomon starts landing heavy blows to him. Satoshi tries to dodge his blow and then fights back with his blows. Lucifer intensifies his psychological assault, conjuring painful memories of Satoshi's past bullies and their hurtful words. Eva enters the elevator, about to push the Up button, however, Eva, moved by her love for Satoshi, vows not to abandon him. She runs back to danger, determined to stand by Satoshi's side. Lucifer intensifies his psychological assault, and Satoshi finds himself in an illusion of his home, where Eva appears to be with Solomon. Satoshi seems to have finally lost the will to fight back. Solomon is continuing to land heavy blows and Satoshi looks like he will die. Just as Solomon is about to deliver the knockout punch, Eva returns, breaking the spell and throwing Satoshi the ceremonial dagger. Satoshi stabs Solomon's heart, expelling the demonic essence. The formless entity cannot live without a host and is sucked back into the still open portal. The entity drags Satoshi with him, entering a chaotic realm where time and space collapse. Outside the portal, Eva looks down and cries for Satoshi. A teardrop falls into the portal, but she is prevented from jumping by Daniel.
Into the Unknown: Satoshi is pulled into a quantum portal, entering the astral plane—a realm where space and time fold into impossible forms. Satoshi wakes up in another dimension. It was like being woken up from a dream, details of his old life as Satoshi begin to fade away. What was his name Satoshi? Sh…ji? He begins to remember his true eternal nature as a divine being of light. Satoshi had chosen to be born on Earth in order to learn the lesson to finally defeating the dark force of Lucifer. Decentralization… decentralization was the answer to beat Lucifer! Satoshi, like a pane of glass shattering under force, he splintered his consciousness into innumerable (21 Million) fragments to fight Lucifer. With the battle won, Satoshi emerges victorious, but the energy expended drains him. Trapped inside the portal his astral form begins to fade, and he accepts his fate with serene acceptance. Just as it it about to dim forever Eva’s teardrop, a glowing silver drop hits him. He is revitalized again and exits the portal.
A New Dawn: Emerging from his experiences a changed man, Satoshi returns to a world that's forever altered by the birth of his son. He is like a glitched super Eternal being. Using his astral powers Satoshi launches Bitcoin and the whitepaper. Reuniting with Eva in the hospital, he makes the profound decision to escape to another dimension with their child, seeking refuge from their tumultuous past. Satoshi's new currency represents hope and freedom to those disillusioned by the traditional financial system.
Epilogue: In the months following the fateful events at LinkUp, Bitcoin slowly begins to spread across the globe. Early adopters latch onto Satoshi Nakamoto's visionary idea of a decentralized digital currency free from centralized control. Though Satoshi has disappeared from public view, his whitepaper and Bitcoin software set the technological foundations for a monumental shift in the financial landscape. Daniel finds peace, having prevented Eva's fate. He continues advocacy for exploited children. Though the deeper conspiracy in the city remains, Julian’s legacy is preserved. His writings and broadcasts spread online, inspiring a new generation of activists to question crony capitalism and seek economic justice. Satoshi and Eva’s whereabouts remain unknown. But his creation takes on a life of its own, echoing his spirit of decentralized freedom. Wherever Satoshi may be, his escape with Eva and their child signifies not an end, but a new beginning filled with possibility. For now, the Nakamoto enigma endures.
