Read the Bitcoin Standard but I don’t think it is the best Book to understand Bitcoin or even to Orange pill people. Its too much for Joe Average. In german there are some better ones, in English I think Saylor delivered great on explaining Bitcoin with that Tucker Carlson Interview Back in 21 I think. That was awesome!

What do you think?

I agree.

Bitcoin Standard led people down the “Digital Gold” narrative.

Digital Gold was written by Nathaniel Popper, a no-coiner journalist who works for the New York Times. It was written in 2015. This is the book responsible for the Digital Gold narrative.

The Bitcoin Standard improved upon this comparison by comparing the Bitcoin network to limestone used as money on the island of Yap.

I don't remember if I've ever read it but I have that book. Here's what it says on page 1.

> Sitting at one end of the table, with his back to the lake, twenty-nine-year-old Erik Voorhees didn’t look like someone who three years earlier had been unemployed, mired in credit card debt, and doing odd jobs to pay for an apartment in New Hampshire. Tonight Erik fitted right in with his suede oxfords and tailored jeans and he bantered easily with the hedge fund manager sitting next to him. His hairline was already receding, but he still had a distinct, fresh-faced youthfulness to him. Showing his boyish dimples, Erik joked about his poor performance at their poker game the night before, and called it a part of his “long game.”

“I was setting myself up for tonight,” he said with a broad toothy smile, before pushing a pile of chips into the middle of the table.

Erik could afford to sustain the losses. He’d recently sold a gambling website that was powered by the enigmatic digital money and payment network known as Bitcoin.

Sounds about right. I haven't read it in a a decade. It was one of the only books about Bitcoin in existence back then. Things have changed. 😀

I like the way Eric Carson describes the network as a Commonwealth on the Internet. It’s not light reading though and some of the philosophy is too deep for a general audience to understand.

21 Lessons by Gigi is probably better for a general audience.

On the technical side I like Inventing Bitcoin by Yan Pritzker and Bitcoin Clarity by Kiara Bickers.

Yes the 21 Lessons taught me a lot and the Technical Details are well explained from Yan Pritzker. 🤝🏻

You’re telling him his baby’s ugly, lol

Satoshi Nakamoto's avatar

lol no.

His book is a non-fiction while with my book you’re in Satoshi’s head and feel what he felt while inventing Bitcoin.
